The careful selection of our local implementing partners through a thorough assessment lays the foundation for our cooperation. Added to this are transparency and trust. Regular reports from projects inform us about the progress made in the substantive work and how the funds have been used. We share this information through reports on our website, on Facebook, and in the annual report.
Orienthelfer e.V. has two volunteer board members who are elected every two years by the general assembly. The board is accountable to the general assembly; both work on a voluntary basis and receive no compensation.
Orienthelfer e.V. provides information to the DZI upon request at any time. In addition, our work and impact can be tracked transparently at any time on our website and in our annual reports. To avoid additional costs not related to projects, Orienthelfer e.V. forgoes certification by the DZI.
In accordance with our statutes, we are involved in projects in Lebanon and Syria together with our local implementing partners. You can find all possible target countries in our statutes under § 3.
Yes, one of the key principles of our work is collaborating with and supporting local organizations. We help small organizations with their first projects just as much as we support established organizations in further developing their work. The focus is always on the well-being of the people we support.
A multi-step selection process lays the foundation for future collaboration. In this process, we especially check the organization’s neutrality and political independence, compatibility with our values and statutes, as well as transparency and focus on impact.
Can I do an internship at Orienthelfer e.V.?
Unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to supervise interns.

Orienthelfer e.V. only has very few areas where members can actively get involved. To fully focus our capacities on our project work, we have decided to accept members only if their qualifications enable them to actively contribute. We welcome support in the following areas:
